DKOU 2018 - German Congress of Orthopaedics and Traumatology

23.10.2018 – 26.10.2018

GER-Berlin

"We are O&T" is the congress motto of the German Congress of Orthopaedics and Traumatology 2018.
Regardless of whether in the hospital, doctor’s in surgery, in the operating theatre, in the research laboratory, in the rehab clinic or in the emergency medical service: Orthopaedics and Traumatology stands for professional treatment of injuries and ailments of the locomotor system. This year’s congress motto "We are O&T" addresses the variety and the wide range of our shared field. No other congress in Europe offers a larger platform for professional, collegial and academic exchange than the DKOU 2018.
10 years after the foundation of the German Society for Orthopaedics and Trauma (DGOU), the congress is the signature feature of the successful growing together of Orthopaedics and Traumatology in Germany. Outstanding examples for the efficiency of our work are the nation-wide Trauma Network and the endoprosthesis index that could be realised thanks to the extraordinary dedication of many individuals and the relentless work of our expert associations.

ARCHITECT@WORK

12.09.2018 – 13.09.2018

NL-Rotterdam

ARCHITECT@WORK is all about ‘Architecture and Light’. Every two years, the successful concept of ARCHITECT@WORK takes place in the Netherlands. After the 14 international editions last year, it is now time for the seventh edition in Rotterdam Ahoy on 12 and 13 September 2018. In 2018 and 2019 a couple of new organisations will be added to the already extensive international offer: Turin, Madrid, Bilbao, Wiesbaden, Hamburg and Oslo.

During the upcoming edition everything will revolve around ‘Architecture and Light’, thus responding to a hot and highly topical issue for (interior) architects, both for spaces inside and outside.

As usual, there will also be plenty of side activities. On Wednesday 12 September at 2.30 p.m. de Architect will start by giving a presentation on designing with light. At 4 p.m. Es Zijlstra of MaterialDistrict will tell us more about ‘Lovely Light’. The seminar ‘Landscape of the Future’ by artist and innovator Daan Roosegaarde will take place on Thursday 13 September.

Furthermore, there will be ‘Lovely Light’, an exposition of materials by MaterialDistrict, and as tradition dictates also the Dutch DAPh photographers will be present again. Interesting to highlight as well is ‘The ART of upcycling’ by Ocean Sole.
