AO Foundation
DKOU, 2025, Berlin, 69 sqm
Since 2015, we've been designing and building the AO Foundation's booth at the German Congress for Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery (DKOU) in Berlin—not out of habit, but because we continue to impress our client with fresh ideas and solutions. The AO Foundation, a nonprofit organization, regularly puts the booth concept out to tender, and for 2025, we've once again won out over the competition—our third successful pitch.
This year’s concept came with two key challenges: the booth is divided across two separate areas (28 and 40.5 sqm), and there’s a strict height limit.
You’d never notice that the booth doesn’t exceed 2.5 meters. Instead of the central overhead lighting used in previous years, we've now integrated lighting directly into the booth elements: backlit walls, a light bridge, and decorative features inspired by bone structures.
We’ve also turned the booth’s two-part layout into an advantage by clearly separating information and communication zones. The information area features monitors, display cases, and presentation tables to showcase the latest surgical techniques and instruments. The communication area offers space for in-depth conversations over aromatic coffee.
Uniting both sections are signature design elements: the AO Foundation logos, a harmonious combination of cool blue and white with warm wood, and those distinctive decorative pieces. It’s a thoughtful concept that has truly impressed our client.
Testimonial
Together with Müller Messebau, AO developed an entirely new booth concept for 2025—from the initial idea all the way to the final execution. We’re thrilled with the result! The design is modern, thoughtful, and perfectly tailored to our brand. We especially want to highlight the professional support and the seamless project management. Müller Messebau was flexible in accommodating our requests, and the end result was a real eye-catcher. Thank you for the fantastic collaboration—we’re already looking forward to future projects!
